Now back from a nice hot climate, its time to get cracking. The Bandit is to visit Steve Jordan Motorcycles for its MOT that is due. At the same time, the race bike is going in for a revamp. The season starts in March, but, it still looks as though I shall be doing more watching when I can due to work commitments. At least with the refresh done on the bike, I can possibly get a few track days in and keep my hand in.
Having come back from Saint Maarteen, I can report that the roads out there are in a pretty bad state of repair on average, and, they have massive speed humps all over the place. When it came to bikes, the weapon of choice seemed to be a Hyabussa. How on earth they use one over there I can not work out. We did meet some nicely blinged up ones, and there were rumours of illegal road races on this island as well as others. As for the choice of attire out there, afraid to report that its shorts and T shirts. Not many were seen wearing a helmet, but moer wore helmets than protective clothing. Most bikes we checked out were damaged on at least one side, I can only imagine the pain of the rider - OUCH.
Quads seemed fairly popular on the island as well, they could be hired out. I personally didn't bother, but perhaps with the state of the roads, especially the more minor ones, it could have been a good move. There were mopeds out there, but nowhere near as many as I had envisaged. _________________ MUTANT NINJA HERO
