Dave, as our little run into france gets ever closer and we are on the same ferries a couple of questions.
Are you shopping on the way to the circuit?
Are you taking fuel out or getting it over there?
What gear ratio do you recommend? _________________ MUTANT NINJA HERO

Right mate...it's autoroute from Dunkerque to Calais (15 minutes), hop off at Calais to a supermarket and fuel station very close to the autoroute to stock up with cheap fuel and decent froggy beverage and food. Then head South to the circuit. Don't forget a few euros for the tolls.
Not sure about gearing. I tried fitting 14/45 at the weekend but the chain has obviously stretched and wasn't enough adjustment to tension it. Have ordered a new one. The circuit has a fairly long straight so you can't run too short a gear, but it also has several tight bends so you need good drive, we'll see. Will have all day Friday to sort it out.
Can't wait!!!!

Dave, will there be enough room where we stop to park with the caravan on the back? And do you have to pay extra on the tolls because you are towing? _________________ MUTANT NINJA HERO

The supermarche has a big car park so no problem with the caravan. Not sure about the tolls, but its not big money for the short section we use.
Best trip of the year!!!!
Ian (concussion 28 day ban) and Paul (broken thumb) are still coming so we have loads of back-up....but maybe not a good idea to drink with them seeing as they don't have to get up in the morning. Plus I have 6 mates arriving on Saturday after a weeks ride up from Spain. They'll be camping wherever they can pitch tents....it's France so it could actually be anywhere they fancy. When I went to Le Mans a couple of year back the frogs were setting up camp in the middle of roundabouts near the track...c'est fantastique!

Looking forward to it as well, have checked out some pictures of the circuit and hints and tips. Roll on getting out there, although, the forecast is not looking great for testing..........
I will be picking up some euros next week for the food, booze and petrol run.
Also got my run in a sidecar to look forward to, just hoping to get another 3 spaces now for the rest of the crew coming out. _________________ MUTANT NINJA HERO

Dave, we may want to get in some vital supplies for the Thursday! Its ascension day in France on the Thursday and that means a French Public Holiday. There may not be that much open and you will have to pay a little extra if you do find something. _________________ MUTANT NINJA HERO

Agreed, but only basics 'cos we can send the troops out on Friday a.m. if we are short of stuff. There's a supermarket in local town plus the usual boulangerie. Yum yum! _________________ Feel the Fear....AND DO IT ANYWAY!
