My Blandit seems to be running well, the Metzeler Z6 tyres perform more than admirable, well they did. Had a blowout on Friday on the A2 heading south, indicating a touch over 70, 2 up. The tyre gave no warning at all of letting go. Despite the heavy traffic, I managed to keep the bike virtually straight and got myself to the side. I managed to slowly ride off an elevated section of road and investigated when I got to a safe point. I could just about find what looked like a hole. I called the AA out, they were there within the hour. A very nice man tried to put a temporary plug in the hole, but, it appeared that the hole was too big, so he towed us home. He has been an AA patrolman for years and has just restored one of their triumph AA bikes. That apparently is one of three triumphs in his collection!

On Saturday, I removed the wheel and took it to a tyre place. The hole was so big that the largest plug they had would not fit. So that was the end of the rear Z6, 2000 miles on it, I could not fault the tyre. Unfortunately, they did not have a replacement Z6 so I have now had a Bridgestone BT020 put on the back. I have heard good reports about the tyre, it will soon be put through its paces.

With only a few days left to go now before my travels, I shall do my best to test it out and really scrub it in. A touch on the damp side this morning meant no peg down action, hopefully, it shall dry up.
