When I booked up through Lastminute.com for a Hotel to stay in while Chuffster was in France racing i had problems with the website... It kept returning an error and saying "try again", which I did... It later transpires that they had requested payment authorisation several times. Just when I thought i couldn't get worse it did...
The Hotel were no longer part of lastminute.com... so an uncomfortable night trying to sleep in a car followed as there was no room at the Inn
I just put it down to experience... that was until i checked my cc bil online to discover that they had taken the money for the non existant hotel booking! Am i pi$$ed off? You bet I am!!!

Dear LastMinute.com,
I recently booked through the lastminute.com website to stay for 2 nights at the Comfort Inn Bruay La Buissiere, France checking in on 26 May 2006. When we turned up at the hotel we were informed that they no longer dealt with lastminute.com and had no room to accomodate us and as such we ended up sleeping (well trying to) in the car. As a result of your poor service the whole weekend was ruined as we were not in any state to do the things we wanted to because lastminute.com had let us down and we returned from France the following day (Saturday) having had no sleep.
I therefore request that the £76.95 you have charged to my credit card is refunded forthwith. Not only was the weekend ruined, but the petrol, ferry fares and toll road charges were also wasted. I also made numerous calls to the number on the reservation email, but to no avail! The number was in North America somewhere (001) code and as such cost me a lot of money to call from my mobile phone, and they were unable to help and kept fobbing me off to other people who were unable to cross reference the booking reference or order number to anything.
I look forward to your swift response to this email and I am seeking compensation for the losses incurred as a direct result or your poor service. A copy of this email has also been sent to trading standards.
