Very happy to report that I now have a fully serviceable RG500 and SV650 plus a spare RG500 and a half.

Will be taking both bikes to Snet.

Also thinking about doing Aberdare - anyone else going? ...

Not too bad for me. Trying out a carby SV while I fix the RG but it went OK really. Saw Dave crash and missed out on copious beers whilst fixing his bike but was pleased with the result.

I managed to blow up the RG again so its back to Bob Farnham for the beast. It was running really well (in true 2-stroke fashon) jus before it blew on Revett Straight.

Short update for those interested.

It appears the failure was in the big end, bits of which caused the piston to seize and the con rod to break, striking the rotary valve and taking out some intern ...
